Leila vive en Comodoro Rivadavia. Está a punto de estallar el conflicto bélico en Malvinas cuando encuentra un flamenco rezagado en la playa. Mientras su madre trabaja en el hospital y su abuela se queda en casa con ella, la ciudad se vuelve un lugar cada vez más hostil, sin luces por la noche, con ventanas tapiadas y mochilas duplicadas para una evacuación inminente. La presencia del flamenco le da una distracción que le ayuda a afrontar las circunstancias, pero en la medida que los días pasan, es cada vez mas difícil evadir la realidad.

Leila lives in Comodoro Rivadavia. The outbreak of the Malvinas war is imminent when she finds a stray flamingo on the beach. While her mother works at the hospital and her grandmother stays home with her, the city becomes an increasingly hostile place—dark at night, with boarded-up windows and packed bags ready for an imminent evacuation. The flamingo’s presence provides a distraction that helps her cope with the circumstances, but as the days go by, it becomes increasingly difficult to escape reality.
